Many confuse data strategy with data architecture, but it's so much more.
A robust data strategy paints a comprehensive picture of how an organization leverages data to achieve its business goals, encapsulating vision, goals, metrics, frameworks, and essential use cases.
A data strategy is a written document—much like a business plan—that explains how an organization will use data to help achieve its core mission and objectives. It consists of four primary dimensions:
◾ Strategy: Setting a vision with measurable goals and a roadmap for transformative impact.
◾ Program: Defining the operational model that bridges IT and business stakeholders.
◾ Operations: Establishing the processes that convert raw data into valuable business assets.
◾ Culture: The linchpin to success, often the toughest hurdle, involving comprehensive change management, training, and innovative practices to foster a data-centric culture.
